At the stairs of the ganges

The sun shines over a calm Ganges, a few boats pass slowly, big plains of sand behind it. Also on the stairs there not a lot of people. So I sit down and with a big smile I start to read a book.Suddenly a girl, two tails and a jeans is sitting next to me. Surprised I look down the stairs and a girl with a bright smile is standing there with a camera, next to her a boy. The boy and the girl also want photographs of me with them. It’s not uncommon that Indians want a picture with a Westerner. After the photo session I ask these youngsters to draw. They look surprised by this sudden turn of events. They write about their family. Afterwards I take their pictures.2014-01-04 17.01.14
