A woman and her two grandson’s are on the grass in Todd Mall, Alice Springs. They live far out in the bush but came into town to shop. Proudly the boy shows me his new blue sneakers. The trio starts drawing enthusiastically. They all drew something they ate. Sheldon and Daniel draw the bush bananas viewing the plant from the side. In her drawing Helen uses a bird’s-eye view. It’s a typical Aborginal way to portray landscapes. It are the bush tomatoes she ate. They were really sweet.
