I always encourage people to share their beautiful moments. So probably it’s a good idea I do that too :-). And I’m curious. What are the beautiful moments of your last week? This week I had so many it was hard to choose.
I’m riding in the sun. In the front is a man whistling a tune. It’s a couple of hours before I’ll board the plane to Utrecht. I’m feeling so glad. I’m going, going for my dreams. Just because I can.

A night flight to Sydney, it’s a very quiet 3 in the morning. I’m clear awake so I work on the English translation of the book. I smile reading the comments of my editor Lucy.

A study friend of mine invited me to go to an art show. We play around with the Ocolus rifts and there’s a short presentation The show appears to be hosted by an organization supporting artists so I decide to go for a little chat with the director. Within a minute I hear the nicest shut up I’ve ever got. ‘This sounds very interesting. We should have a proper conversation in my office next week.’ She hands me her business card. ‘Here, Please, give me a call.’ Two days later, I’ve got that proper conversation. It goes very well.

I’ve got a sore throat, so my voice is gone. But not completely. It sounds as a squeaky roller coaster. Aaron can’t stop laughing while I try to talk.

I’m invited to play settlers of Catan with Anoop and his friends. I met Anoop briefly at coffee mornings, a nice gathering of cool people at 8 am. It’s great to play with all these competitive and experienced players. But seven is thrown and I have to throw in seven of my resource cards. Jo comments on how this hurts so much. ‘There are things which hurt more.’ I reply. She’s surprised:
‘Like what?’ ‘Even blisters.’
Anoop brings me to the train station station in his Tesla. I’m not a car fanatic, but this one I like very much. Anoop shows me all the features including the autopilot. When we are in first position at a traffic light he says: ‘Put your head against the head stand’ We take off in insane acceleration mode.

Dusk at the botanic gardens. It’s lush and green. Bird sounds echo all over. I can see the Opera house and the harbour bridge in the background. It’s almost dark so I expected the flying foxes – a big kind of bats – to be out already. Bats are my favorite animals. They’ve got echo location. And I encounter them in almost every place, from the dessert in Dubai to flying over the houses in Sarajevo. With millions coming out of a cave in Cambodia to hanging around in the threes along the yara river in Melbourne. They give me a sense of home. I’m actively searching for the bats, but I don’t see them. When I look casually over my shoulder I see three flying foxes passing by.
