Enthusiasm in Singapore

When I approach people to draw I display quite some enthusiasm about the project. Here in Singapore I have to tame this enthusiasm a bit. A more laid back and reserved approach to strangers works better. Not showing to much emotion. I was wondering why this was. Had it to do with group culture? That you wouldn’t conform to the group if you are to enthusiastic? I discussed it with a Singapore friend. She was clear. “No, it’s much easier. If you’re too outgoing, people think you’re crazy.”
